lots of things going on, but i'm dedicating this post to haiku..
you may ask why.. well, in part because sokka's haiku battle is one of my favorite bits in avatar..
Sokka's Haiku Battle
and in part because i've been revisiting some of my old poetry and came across some haiku i've written.. traditionally, haiku is focused on the subjects of nature, the seasons, etc.. but mine tend to be all over the place as far as subject goes.. i just find the style extremely fun to work with..
my blue maelstrom eye
polar in hostile white chill
rejects the contact
stenciling sky blind
on waterbed horizon,
dawn wakes the sailor
brow beaten facial
forensics reconstruct crime
seen these nostrils flare
white watered winter
an un-bottled beverage
pleistocene cube splash
over - matchsticks moon
milky smokes, constellation
orion incensed.
my perforation
blinks, separation makes pulp
of this valentine.
.. just some of my old stuff.. we're not talking heights of poetic greatness here, by any means.. but its a fun form to write in, and one of many reasons why i enjoy the character of sokka (and avatar in general) so much..

Loved the video - I have yet to see Avatar. Maybe I should Netflix it? hmmm...
